Phil Say is a Director of Natural Capital with over 25 years of experience in the fields of environmental management and sustainable development including environmental impact assessment, management systems, sustainability appraisals, community planning, facilitation and training.  He is an ecologist and pollution biologist by training having undertaken PhD research on the environmental impact of mining on streams and rivers in upland areas of the UK and Europe. He has extensive environmental consultancy experience, first at Northern Environmental Consultants Ltd (which he co- founded in 1982 and was managing director 1982 - 90), then at Environmental Resources Management, ERM (1990 – 1998 where he was a board director, headed the environmental management services and also multinational company development in Europe) and more recently as a director of Natural Capital (1998 onwards).
