BDes (Hons) Landscape Architecture, MRP (Hons) Resource and Environmental Planning
Alex is an Environmental Consultant with an Honours degree in Landscape Architecture from Victoria University, New Zealand and a Masters degree in Resource and Environmental Planning from Massey University, New Zealand. She has also been a Graduate member of the New Zealand Institute of Landscape Architects and the New Zealand Planning Institute until her relocation to the United Kingdom. Alex joined Natural Capital in 2011, after working for Boffa Miskell Ltd as a Landscape Architect and Environmental Challenge Ltd as an Environmental Consultant in New Zealand.
KEY SKILLS/SPECIALISMS
Alex specialises in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), particularly Land and Visual Assessments while also undertaking work in Pre-Feasibility Investigations and advice, Environmental Management and monitoring. Her key skills include desk based research, project management, GIS mapping, and visualisations.
KEY CAPABILITIES
Before starting with Natural Capital, Alex has worked predominantly within the network utility sector. Most recently, she project managed the environmental works involved with a new 33 kV transmission line from Ngawha Power Station to Kaikohe Substation in the North Island of New Zealand. This project involved a preliminary investigation and scoping exercise, followed by site visits, landowner and stakeholder consultation, council consultation and negotiation, the preparation and submission of two resource consent applications and providing evidence to council that monitoring measures had been undertaken once works were complete.
