
BSc (Hons) Ecological Sciences (Conservation and Ecological Management), IEEM Graduate
Louise is an Ecologist with an upper second class Honours degree in Ecological Sciences, specialised in Conservation and Ecological Management, from University of Edinburgh. She is a graduate member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEEM). Louise joined Natural Capital in 2011, after working as a policy officer for the Organisational Development department of the Shetland Islands Council.
KEY SKILLS/SPECIALISMS
Louise specialises in Integrated Impact Assessment, community consultation and engagement, community planning and strategy development, ecological fieldwork and surveying, policy appraisal and best practice guidance, and equality and diversity. She has also undertaken a variety of workshop facilitation and stakeholder engagement exercises in her role as policy officer. Key skills include , ecological surveying and monitoring, desk based research and data analysis, liaising with statutory consultees and stakeholders, community consultation and engagement, and policy appraisal.

Louise will begin her career with Natural Capital focussing on a number of high-profile projects involving SEA, Sustainability Appraisal, EIA and research contributions to a variety of current projects.
